I'll do it tomorrow or never.. whichever comes first

The procrastinators motto: "I'll do it tomorrow." The problem is tomorrow never comes. It is always today. It is never yesterday, it is never tomorrow. BUT, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. Confused yet?

I am lazy, I hate housework, I DESPISE folding and putting away laundry. I can wash it all day long.. that doesn't bother me. But I pile it on the couch, because I hate putting it away. I always have. Even as a kid, when my mom finally got around to folding the laundry that she had done, I would throw it in my closet, or cram it in my drawers or shove it under my bed. When I got old enough to do my own laundry.. I piled it on the couch until my mom folded it or piled it on top of the dressers or my bed.. much like I do now.

When I finally DO get around to folding... I find that it only takes ten minutes or less... so why in the hell can't I do it right then and there?? Because I am lazy and because I will do it tomorrow. Because I would rather be doing something fun. I am trying to be better at it though. I try to keep in mind that things only take
F-O-R-E-V-E-R to accomplish when they are put off for another tomorrow.

Besides life's too short, you know? I would rather be here blogging about why I am so lazy instead of oh I don't know doing something about it.

I found a poem a while back that pretty much expresses how I feel I did NOT write the poem, I do not know who did:
Remember...a layer of dust protects the Wood beneath it. 'A house
becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture '

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things
were just perfect - 'in case someone came over' Finally I realized
one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and
having fun! NOW, when people visit, I don't have to explain the 'condition' of my home .

They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing
while I was away living life and having fun. If you haven't figured
this out yet, please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must ..... .

but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake
cookies or a cake and lick the spoon or plant a seed, ponder the
difference between want and need?!

Dust if you must, but there's not much time . . . .
with pop to drink, rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to
hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must,
but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in
your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain This day will not
come around, again.

Dust if you must
but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. . .

And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!

I HATE putting laundry away, and I'm just doing my own. And like you said, it takes (probably less than) ten minutes, and yet I work it up in my head as if it's intense manual labor.

Like you, I'm terrible about putting laundry away. For me it's always, well, I could write a blog post, or I could put that away. I could work on my book, or I could put that away.

I'm not getting any younger, so it would be nice to have the blog posts and book done.

Thus, laundry... begone!

I also hate laundry, but I try and help out as much as I can with it.

I also hate putting away laundry. But when you describe it as "cram it in my drawers", it suddenly sounds more interesting.

I hate to dust and I eventually get the laundry put away. Now that I'm older, I no longer fret over housework. It gets done a little at a time and that is good enough! Fun post.

I am funny like that, also, I am lazy at easy things and not at others. I would rather put up a brick wall than unload a dishwasher, go figure?

I don't mind doing and folding laundry - I fold it and put it in the laundry basket as I take it out of the dryer. BUT I hate putting it away and it often stays in the laundry basket until somone wears it!

I hate cleaning. I don't even say I'll do it tomorrow; I just accept that I'm not gonna do it.

Well it seems like not putting laundry away wins hands down. Raising a second buttload of kids makes me realize the world will not stop turning if there is dust on the furniture.

At least you get it folded. we just pull it out of the basket and/or run the dryer again to get the wrinkles out
