My faith in humanity has been restored!

In my very first epic length vlog, I told you about the woman that backed into my car in the parking lot of a grocery store. After a week of back and forth with the insurance company trying to get a hold of her, they did. However, it took 2 letters from them 3 messages on her cell phone and finally a threat to cancel her insurance if she did not contact them before 7 tonight (the accident happened a week ago today)for her to get back to them. Who knows, maybe she just didn't have time to return the call. State Farm just called me and told me she had accepted liability for the accident. Good thing too, because if you actually sat through the whole vlog, you will know that a police report was not filed. If you didn't watch it all shame on you now you know. So now I wait til Tuesday for the adjuster to come out and do an estimate for repairs.

In the vlog and off line, I never once had a bad thing to say about the woman who backed into me. When someone would ask what happened, I would say "A woman backed into me in the parking lot." Never did I say "some bitch hit me" or say anything negative about her at all. I was very nice to her right after it happened. Even though Aunt Flo visited me earlier that morning, I was able to stay calm and nice and tell her "shit happens" She was very nice to me. She apologized for the accident. She gave me all of her home phone number and her address. When I couldn't reach her by phone, I went to her house after realizing we didn't exchange insurance info. Then she gave me her local agent's phone number, insurance policy number, even the VIN number on her car.

I believe what comes around goes around and that the Universe listens and give back what you give. If I had spoken anything negative about her, or cussed her out or anything, I would not have gotten this end result. Some of you cynics might not want to believe otherwise, but I maintain positivity was the key! Besides, she could have claimed it wasn't her fault and/or she wasn't involved, but she didn't.

Positivity is a WONDERFUL thing!

On another note, my husband, who has been out of town since the end of July got home last night! Woooohoooooo. He looks like a beach bum with a farmers tan. Kinda hard to explain. I don't care what he looks like, I am just glad he's home. I took off work today to spend with him.

Last but not least. Keep praying for friends and family of 9/11. I will NEVER forget, nor will it EVER be easy to deal with the hurt, fear and emotions at the very mention of the date.

God Bless us all.

Glad that worked out for you.

But next time? File a police report.

Trust me - I hit people all the time and the police report is in the best interest of both parties. It keeps people from coming up with injuries and additional damages.

Absofreakinlutely! I never understand people who have to go into combat mode every time anything happens.

Note to self: No matter how much you love her, don't let Blognut drive you around :)

I'm with you on the positivity/Karma bit. I got hit a while ago... by a police officer (who fell asleep at the wheel!). But I was nice as pie. A few weeks later? I got out of a ticket I totally deserved... different police (county as opposed to city) but I'm sure the two events were connected.

Shelly.. I thought you'd think so!

QL Thank you.. good karma feels GREAT!

Blognut, TRUST me. I WILL file one IF there IS a next time. This took way to long to get solved. Be careful out there especially with your newly formed caffeine habit!

Riffdog, It doesn't make sense to me either.

Diana.. duly noted! That is GREAT that you got out of a ticket like that.I'm sure karma was on your side too! I am glad you weren't hurt in the accident.

Somehow I'm glad I missed the vlog and can just get the update here. ;) Actually I've been offline with computer problems, but am glad to be able to return to visit you. :)

Treat people nice and respectful and one of two things happen:
1). you get treated with the same respect!
2). you get used and abused!

The trick is being able to pick out the people who will follow path #1!
