She is a great photographer and just knew that this would be a great place to get some beautiful pics. It was very fascinating in there. It was also VERY hot and humid. But its South Florida in August.. we expected nothing else.
These are all pics that I took.
There were various types of flowers, birds, and of course butterflies. Relaxing music was streamed in from the speakers above, so you just kinda lost yourself in the gorgeous little piece of heaven.
I wanted to get a pic of this beautiful blue butterfly, but he wouldn't land for me. When he did, it was to feed on the bananas. BUT he would not open his wings. There were others feeding as well. I also snuck a shot of Shelly as she was taking pics.
My husband was lucky enough to have one land on his sunglasses
Did you know there were giant hummingbirds? I didn't either, but here he is

Don had to blow on him to get him to open his wings, but I finally got him
Then we went in to a different area to see some magnificent flowers
Then off to see the Macaws
Then we went back to her hotel, sat by the pool, drank strawberry daiquiris and ate pizza. I think she has all of those pics.

I LOVE butterflies! I didn't know they ate bananas. Hmmmmm..... I wonder if they'll slow down for some pictures if I put bananas out.
As for the butterflies having sex, that isn't true. They were just playing Leap Frog. I asked my mom.

That's awesome!! I recorded a butterfly in my garden yesterday and I was entranced!
I love the videos! The macaws came out so bright and catching the butterfly on Don's glasses. Only a wonderful friend calls one a great anything..thank-you! Yep..proof's in the picture..ones nose does continue to grow as one gets older.Gotta love the snookers.
