However, when she landed in Munchkinland, I am convinced (like many hippies before me) that she was actually on acid. I mean just look at the scenery.
I thought "What in the hell are the Ooompa Loompas doing in Oz?"
Then one of the little people said something about heroin and I realized that I had assumed the wrong drug.
What?
Heroin?
Yes Heroin, that's what they said.
No .. they were saying heroine as in female hero
Well that makes more sense. But I also realized helium was involved in the making of the movie. Don't believe me? Then how do you explain this?
After that scene Tiffany left the room. She couldn't stand all the singing. Hubs changed the channel.
He landed on the original "Dr Dolittle" Did you all know he was white?
I was just as shocked as you are.
He had just learned how to talk to 499 animals. He wanted to learn to speak goldfish. Hubby said, "Well that's easy, he just has to speak in a German accent"

And yes.. I started this blog in my head as I was watching last night. Sad.. how very sad.

I kinda hate it when I try to watch a movie that I LOVED as a kid. I'm always disappointed and/or shocked. Like when I watched Grease...that shit was INAPPROPRIATE for a girl my age to have watched it.

LOVED Grease! My cousin and I used to act out the singing scenes. I was WAY dissapointed when I watched the old Land of the Lost episodes on Sci-fi.. remember how great that looked when we were kids?

Wizard of Oz is wonderful, so many great lines. And when Kathy and I are riding bikes, I always ride behind her humming the music during the scene when the old lady was riding her bike.
I definitely think drugs were involved.
I love The Wizard of Oz - i think they should remake it now.
I never liked the Wizard of Oz. I know, I'm un-American, and on a patriotic holiday weekend, even!
I've often heard that acid was involved in the Wizard of Oz making/theme and same for Willy Wonka.

I loved the Wizard of Oz movie. And I totally thought they were all on drugs, even when I was 6 years old.

You bring up a good point, Willy Wonka and The wizard of Oz are very similar stories! They both start on a journey, follow a path, meet crazy characters and tiny people, and, in the end, learn some valuable family lessons! Every time I start on a magical path, I get fucked! LOL!
