The older you get, the smarter your mother was..

When you were growing up, did you ever think your mom was stupid, invasive, non-trusting, and downright annoying? The endless rolling of your eyes, the mocking of your mom and muttering under your breath? Remember swearing to yourself "I will never be this way with MY kids

Now.. fast forward a few years. You've had kids of your own and have found that the mother's curse WORKS! I know it worked in my mom's case, because I have on like me (sort of) and one EXACTLY like my brother. You also find out that your mom was really smart, caring, loving and she did all of those things because she genuinely cared. How much are you like your mother now, even though we all swore we would NEVER be like her. Do you appreciate all that she had done? I know I do now..

Back when my 17 year old son had first obtained his drivers license, he was supposed to go to breakfast in the city where we lived at a diner in which he works. He wasn't home in a reasonable amount of time. When I called him, I found that he was 2 cities north, that he had picked up a teen aged friend. Did he call me to tell me all this??? NO!!! After I told him to get his ass home... I called my mom...... and apologized for being a teenager. She laughed as all moms do when we share these type of stories. What makes us think THIS time will be different? When you call to whine about what your kids did , did you really think she was going to display sympathy and give you words of wisdom and encouragement? Not only no but HELL no, she has probably already peed herself with laughter as she innocently gets her revenge. You know that phrase "Insanity is hereditary, you get it from your kids"? I heard it my whole childhood. I never fully understood the meaning until my kids were old enough to make noise. Yeah that's hour 1 for those of you who were wondering. Now I say it all the time while looked away in my padded cell with great meds rocking back and forth while drool collects in a nasty puddle on the floor below me

I also realized something else just a few minutes ago while de-fleaing my daughters cat.. raising kids is like giving a psycho kitten a bath. Sigh.. If only we knew now what we THOUGHT we knew then.. we would NEVER have had kids

Have you apologized to YOUR mom yet?

I've apologized several times. I probably need to call her and apologize again. Just for the hell of it.

No, but let me tell you about our Princess..

Let's say she had her dark time. Goth type dark time. Full black makeup.. get the picture..

Daddy, full fledge down to his socks, chaps and spurs cowboy..

Two were constantly together.. If Daddy went,, he had to drag his daughter along.. she would NOT be left home..

Daddy super embarrassed at his daughter's GOTH appearance,, but love won out and he hauled he ass to all his cowboy type functions.. for years..

fast forward 10 years..

Princess calls Daddy..."I'm sorry I was Goth!"

Appears she walked in to a gas station,,, (she is now an adult) and came face to face with herself... a teen.. dressed in goth...

and she felt old..

How funny! Although I don't have kids, I see it in my friends and I still was not able to avoid some of the "you have become your mother" actions. EEEKKK!

I haven't apologized. Instead, I prefer to blame her for my bad behavior. It's much easier.

You know, it's amazing how much back talk and attitude we get out of a non-verbal kid!

I have a friend who believes that all teenagers should be sent to an island, segregated from the rest of society until they transform back into normal human beings. Sometimes I'm very tempted to agree.

And one day Dizzie OUR kids will be calling us and apologizing.

I'm looking forward to it!

Kids should be lobotomized until they are 25 then you can put it back.

Beth: Yes.. a little ass kissing always does a daughter good!

Chica: I was an angel too.. just don't ask my mother, she'll lie to you

Queen: Princess is too funny! Weird how ridiculous that look is the older we are

RG: I'll give you mine.. just say the word!

Jo: Maybe I should try that approach.. I need to be resolved

Chris: I'm quite sure that actions speak louder than words

Shawn: Your friend is a genius! Too bad that's probably not legal, I agree though too

Slyde: Nooooooooo moms never do anything to piss us off! Must be your imagination

QL: I am too.. I have even practiced my evil maniacal laugh for that precise moment.

Mike.. funny how both suggestions about segregating and lobotomizing teens come from men.. the boys are worse than the girls

Scandy Karma is a bitch dammit

And that is one of the reasons I didn't have kids. The things I did as a teenager and early 20 year old make me a little blushy now when I remember them. :o)

Bee: ahhhhhhhhhhhhh yes I try to black out those days.. but they keep coming back to mock me

Man, I'm a teenager, and I can't stand my kind. Lol. We're. . .so. . . .stupid, seriously.

I'm ashamed to be such a thing. Eh, I have only one more teen-age year. Then I'm outta of the 'teenage' era for good.

Oh, and Mom? IF I ever have kids, (which I will not, maybe I'll have imaginary ones. . who knows) I'm going to apologize. :)

I think mine needs to apologize to me for being so freaking crazy !!!
