June 1st YAY!
The beginning of hurricane season. This is the time of year we get soaked, blown, sweaty, exhausted and left in the dark. Sounds kinky huh? It's also the time, where later on in the year we go hurricane and school shopping all in one trip. We go from Target to Home Depot then to the grocery store.
We get socks, underwear, and paper. Then flashlights and batteries, then food. Why 3 stores? Because for me at least I know everybody and their brother will be at the Super Wal-Fart doing the same shopping and I truly despise that store. Although, with the economy the way it is, I will probably be among the herd being prodded as I am corralled into that God-forsaken place, ramming into others' carts and beating someone over the head for the last flashlight or last package of paper or last jar of peanut butter.
It's also the time of year where the doom and gloom forecasters will tell us how active this season will be. Then we get more panicked, digging an underground bunker suitable for the Zombie Apocalypse that I am sure will happen, spending money we don't have, only to find that the "active season" only applies to the storms in the Atlantic that never reach us.
Then we are stuck eating baked beans and peanut butter sandwiches for the next nine months like we are pregnant and craving weird food combinations. SIGH
I know I know mocking you all in my head
It's better to be prepared and not need it then not be prepared and have to wait on the roof waiting to be rescued from the Zombies"
Bite me

Wall mart makes me want to KILL!
Luckily, if you're there and had to turn cannibal, just one of those land whales would feed you for years.

Yes. May was all have a quiet season this year. When they hit Louisiana and the Texas coast, the DFW area gets flooded with evacuees. Not fun for anybody.
Stay away from Wally-World. It's a scary place.

Hurricane season in June!? Where the hell have I been, or what weather channel I've been watching rather. They were talking about Galviston TX this moring on GMA, so I think your right. Well I hope nothing comes your way.. if it does, then you might have to move up here with me in tornado ally, called Kansas.
We get the Atlantic storms in south Georgia. Some schools in the northern states look forward to snow days. We look forward to hurricane days. Stock up on the batteries!

Wow, I never actually thought of June 1 in that way...I guess that's because I live in the frigid north, where all we have to worry about is whether we will have to turn our a/c on at all this summer...
